• Read each question twice before answering
• Try to answer the question before looking at the choice
• Knock off the easy ones first. Then go back for the difficult ones. Next attack the really tough ones.
• Guessing. In general, there is no negative mark for the CBT exam. For specific information contact the respective state directorate of medical education. Guessing alone improves your changes scoring up to 5-10%. If there are no negative marks, complete the paper fully. Don't second guess. The common wisdom is that your first answer is more likely than revised answers to be correct.
• Pace yourselves. Watch the time.
• For short answer questions, write clearly with appropriate diagrams. Answer to point rather than writing aimlessly.
• Don't despair 1 hour into the exam. Take 10 seconds to breathe deeply. Relax. Then continue.
